Golf Course Architect
Andrew Green is a highly regarded American golf course architect renowned for his sensitive restorations of classic Golden Age layouts. A Virginia Tech graduate in turfgrass management and landscape architecture, he spent 14 years with McDonald & Sons honing his craft on revered courses like Pine Valley, Shinnecock Hills, Merion, and Oakmont.
H. Green Design / Green Golf & Turf—in 2014 and quickly earned top-tier commissions restoring Donald Ross and William Flynn originals.
Green’s work on Indian Creek Country Club in Indian Creek Village, Florida, exemplifies his design philosophy: he overhauled the 1930 William Flynn layout in 2022, improving drainage and reinstating Flynn’s bunker style, green contours, and sightlines. The renovation earned second place in Golf Digest’s 2023 Best Renovation awards.
Beyond Indian Creek, Green has restored Inverness Club (Golfweek Restoration of the Year 2018), the East Course at Oak Hill, Congressional’s Blue Course, Scioto, Wannamoisett, and East Lake, among others, and continues to shape both historic and original designs.
