Sentiero Golf ("we", "us", "our") operates the website sentierogolf.com and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal information when you use our platform.
We are committed to complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using Sentiero Golf you consent to the practices described in this policy.
Account information. When you register with an email address and password, we collect your name and email address. Your password is stored as a hashed value — we never store it in plain text.
Third-party sign-in. You can also create an account or sign in using Google, Facebook, X (Twitter), or GitHub. When you do, that provider shares your name, email address, and public profile information with us, in accordance with its own privacy policy and the permissions you grant it at sign-in.
User-generated content. We collect any content you submit, including course reviews, condition reports, and photos. This content is associated with your account.
Profile information. You may optionally add a profile photo. If no photo is uploaded, we may request a Gravatar image associated with your email address from Gravatar.com.
Contact form. If you submit an enquiry through our Contact page, we collect your name, email address, and message so we can respond to you.
Usage data. We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used for security, debugging, and improving the service.
Analytics and cookies. We use a cookie to keep you logged in. We also use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, which involves cookies and similar tracking technologies that collect information such as your IP address, device type, and browsing activity on Sentiero Golf. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell it. You can block these cookies using your browser settings or an extension such as Google's opt-out add-on; doing so will not affect your ability to use the site.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
Service providers. We use Supabase (database hosting) and Vercel (web hosting, site analytics, and performance monitoring) to operate the platform. These providers process data on our behalf under their own data processing terms.
Analytics providers. We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic, and Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to measure traffic and site performance. These providers may process usage data as described in their own privacy policies.
Sign-in providers. If you sign in with Google, Facebook, X, or GitHub, those providers act as independent controllers of the account information they share with us as part of the sign-in process.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sentiero Golf, our users, or the public.
Public content. Reviews, photos, and condition reports you submit are visible to other users of the platform. Your display name is shown alongside your content; your email address is never publicly displayed.
Our database is hosted by Supabase on infrastructure located in the United States, and our web application is hosted by Vercel, which operates a global network of servers. This means your personal information is stored and processed outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, including relying on our providers' own security and data-protection commitments.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business purposes (such as maintaining records of moderation actions).
User-generated content (reviews, photos, condition reports) may be retained in anonymised form after account deletion to preserve the integrity of the course data.

Course listings on Sentiero Golf may contain links to external websites (e.g. club websites, booking platforms). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Sentiero Golf is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via a notice on the website. Your continued use of Sentiero Golf after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
