Golf Course Architect
Bill Watts was the original golf course architect credited with designing what is now known as the Senator Course at Shula’s Golf Club in Miami Lakes, Florida. Opened in 1962, his design laid the foundation for the championship layout that served as the centerpiece of the resort and public facility.
Over the decades, the course underwent updates—most notably in 1998 by Kipp Schulties—but Watts’s original work remains the basis of the routing and character. Biographical details beyond his role at Shula’s are scarce, and I could not locate additional information about his background, education, or other projects.
