He studied turf management and landscape architecture at UMass Amherst and began his career as a USGA Green Section agronomist, later joining the firm of Geoffrey Cornish before launching his own practice in 2000. His work is distinguished by strategic variety, geometric bunker shapes, template-inspired holes, and merges historic aesthetics with modern playability.
Silva’s notable projects include original designs such as Red Tail Golf Course (Devens, MA) and Old Marsh Country Club (Wells, ME), as well as renovation or restoration work at courses like Acushnet River Valley municipal course (Acushnet, MA). S.
