He studied turf management and landscape architecture at UMass Amherst and began his career as a USGA Green Section agronomist, later joining the firm of Geoffrey Cornish before launching his own practice in 2000. His work is distinguished by strategic variety, geometric bunker shapes, template-inspired holes, and merges historic aesthetics with modern playability.
