Golf Course Architect
David Zinkand is an Ohio‑born, Cornell‑educated landscape architect who graduated in 1997 and spent a year touring classic courses in Britain and Ireland via a Dreer Award. He then worked for many years as a Design Associate shaping projects for Coore & Crenshaw and other firms before founding his own firm, Zinkand Golf Design.
His design philosophy emphasizes minimalist, strategic layouts that draw from the land’s natural character. In 2008 he collaborated with Jeff Bradley on a bunker renovation at Weekapaug Golf Club in Rhode Island, revitalizing the course’s seaside style.
He continues to lead notable restorations and renovations, including master planning Desert Forest Golf Club and restoration work at Old Elm Club.
