Golf Course Architect
Frank Pont is a Dutch golf course architect who transitioned from a banking and consulting career to golf architecture around 2001, establishing his firm Infinite Variety Golf Design in 2003. He studied golf course architecture at Heriot‑Watt University in Edinburgh, specializing in the work of classic designers such as Harry Colt and Tom Simpson, and apprenticed with David McLay Kidd.
Pont has made his name restoring and renovating classic European courses—particularly those originally by Colt, Simpson, Pennink, and others—as well as designing new courses including De Swinkelsche and The Links Valley. His work at Kennemer Golf & Country Club involved long‑term planning and adjustments in the spirit of the original Colt design.
