Henrik Stenson, renowned Swedish professional golfer and 2016 Open champion, launched Henrik Stenson Golf Design in 2015, partnering with architect Christian Lundin to create his debut project: a full-scale redesign of Österåkers Golfklubb. Their work transformed the club into a modern, strategically varied facility featuring two 18‑hole courses (“Öster by Stenson” completed in 2018; the West Course under renovation) plus a par‑3 and extensive practice amenities, emphasizing playability for both amateurs and professionals and integrating natural terrain with parkland and stadium‑style elements.
His philosophy champions a ‘less is more’ approach, leveraging the landscape itself to deliver memorable and enjoyable golfing experiences.
