Golf Course Architect
S. Army cavalry officer who, during his command of the 7th Cavalry Brigade at Fort Knox from March 1932 to May 1934, personally laid out and created Lindsey Golf Course in 1933.
Beyond his distinguished military career—which included service in the Boxer Rebellion, World War I, and leadership positions such as brigade commander—his enduring legacy in golf architecture rests solely on this one course, named in his honor and originally for officers. His design is notable less for stylistic innovation and more for its origin as a military project under his direction, later becoming a public facility.
