Golf Course Architect
Robert McNeil is an American golf course architect and founder of The Northeast Golf Company (established 1996), later including the McNeil Design Collaborative, based in Saunderstown, Rhode Island. He holds a BBA from Bryant University and a Master’s in Landscape Architecture (specializing in golf course design) from Ohio State University, combining agronomy, engineering, urban planning, and landscape architecture training.
Early in his career he worked at Keith Foster Golf Course Design and spent time on-site at New Albany Country Club learning construction and maintenance practices. , including award‑winning work such as The Preserve in Rhode Island.
He is also active internationally through MDC Global Golf. His renovation of Sterling Farms Golf Club in Stamford, Connecticut, was completed in 2005.
