Golf Course Architect
Scot Sherman is a seasoned American golf course architect serving as lead architect at Love Golf Design, the firm founded by Davis Love III and his brother Mark. A graduate of Furman University and Georgia Tech, Sherman began his career with Dye Designs, later working under renowned architect Bobby Weed as a senior associate designer before joining Love Golf Design around 2014.
He has earned recognition within the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA), becoming an associate member in 2004. Sherman’s portfolio spans high-profile renovation and restoration projects across the United States.
He notably collaborated on the 2001 rerouting and redesign of the University of Florida’s Mark Bostick Golf Course alongside Bobby Weed, and later returned in 2014 to oversee updates to greens, bunkers, irrigation, and practice areas. At Love Golf Design he has been instrumental in revitalizing historic courses such as the Plantation Course at Sea Island Resort, Atlantic Dunes at Sea Pines, and the Delray Dunes restoration, often drawing on photographic and archival evidence to preserve or reinstate original architectural intent.
