Aamby Valley's golf course, currently presented by Aamby Valley City as The Western Ghats Golf Club, is an 18-hole, par-72 resort course in Maharashtra. The official site gives a total length of 7,100 yards across 256 acres and describes it as approved by the PGA of Great Britain & Ireland. David Hemstock & Associates is credited with the original championship layout.
IDG, then operating as PGA Design Consulting, was subsequently appointed by Sahara and says its chairman Bob Hunt remodelled the course for tournament play and to improve integration with surrounding real estate. The course hosted the inaugural Aamby Valley Asian Masters on the Asian Tour in May 2006 and later hosted Professional Golf Tour of India competition. Aamby Valley's practice infrastructure includes a golf academy of about 23,500 square feet with teaching bays, swing-analysis technology and club fitting, plus a double-ended driving range identified in current club material.

The golf course was developed as a major sporting component of Sahara's Aamby Valley City project in the Western Ghats. David Hemstock & Associates is credited with the original championship design. Contemporary material from the 2006 Asian Tour event described the course as a par-72 layout of 7,087 yards.
The original layout was conceived as an 18-hole championship course. When IDG, then PGA Design Consulting, became involved, it found that the golf design and surrounding real-estate plan were not sufficiently integrated. Bob Hunt remodelled the golf course both for tournament use and to improve the relationship between the holes and adjacent development.
IDG's work extended beyond the golf routing to the surrounding timber lodges, apartments, clubhouse and golf academy. Current Aamby Valley material describes an 18-hole course over 256 acres and a substantial golf academy with teaching and analysis facilities.
Aamby Valley hosted the inaugural Aamby Valley Asian Masters on the Asian Tour in May 2006. IDG records a 'Best Golf Course, India' award at the 2012 International Property Awards, while historical golf coverage also records earlier recognition from India's professional golf community.
Aamby Valley City currently markets the course as The Western Ghats Golf Club. It remains an 18-hole, par-72 championship facility supported by a golf academy, practice infrastructure and the wider resort's accommodation and dining.
