The golf course was developed as a central sporting component of Agalarov Estate outside Moscow. American architect Cal Olson was commissioned to create an 18-hole championship layout on approximately 72 hectares of the estate.
Olson used the property's existing terrain, wooded areas and water to create strategic options rather than a uniformly penal layout. A network of lakes and connecting streams became one of the course's defining structural features.
The course was operating by 2010 and subsequently developed a substantial training operation, including a golf academy, driving range, short-game areas and indoor simulators.
The official club states that Agalarov has twice been named Russia's Best Golf Course by the World Golf Awards. The Russian Golf Association continues to use the club for significant competition, including the 2026 Moscow Oblast Championship.
Agalarov operates as a private country-club golf facility in Moscow Oblast, with an 18-hole championship course, practice infrastructure and clubhouse services.
