Aphrodite Hills Golf, PGA National Cyprus, is an 18-hole resort course at Kouklia designed by Cabell B. Robinson and officially opened in 2002. The layout measures approximately 6,299 metres and occupies two elevated plateaux separated by a substantial ravine.
Robinson worked with the site's elevation, native olive and carob trees and exposed rock to create a course in which changes in height and carries across natural features are recurring strategic elements. The golf operation includes a double-ended 350-metre driving range with TrackMan Range technology, a dedicated short-game area, PGA National Golf Academy, pro shop, changing rooms, restaurant and bar. A €2.5 million modernisation undertaken in 2017 included reconstruction of greens and bunkers; the renovated course reopened in January 2018.
The course is an 18-hole resort golf course. Designed by Cabell B. Robinson, the course originally opened in 2002. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Short Game Area, Golf Academy, Pro Shop, Restaurant, Bar, Changing Rooms, Club Hire.
The resort vision developed from land acquired by the Lanitis family in the 1930s. Planning for a major golf resort accelerated in the 1990s. Sasaki Associates worked on the structural master planning with golf architect Cabell Robinson, and the course officially opened in 2002.
Robinson used the site's two plateaux, ravines and native Mediterranean vegetation as integral components of the routing. Rather than flattening the terrain, the design incorporates significant elevation changes and carries across natural features.
A major €2.5 million investment in 2017 modernised the course, including complete reconstruction of greens and bunkers. The renovated course returned to play in January 2018 and gained PGA National Cyprus status.
PGA National status places Aphrodite Hills among the selected facilities licensed to use the PGA's national-course designation.
The golf facility forms part of Aphrodite Hills Resort and combines the championship course with extensive practice, coaching, retail and clubhouse facilities.
