Origins

Avondale's golf course dates to 1968 and is credited to designer Melvin Hueston. It was established during a period when the Hayden and Coeur d'Alene area was still far less developed than it is today, giving the course more than half a century of continuity in northern Idaho.

Development

The club was historically identified as Avondale Golf & Tennis Club, reflecting recreational facilities beyond the golf course. Over time its golf operation has added modern practice and teaching infrastructure, including TrackMan simulator technology, while maintaining the original 18-hole format.

Today

Avondale operates as an 18-hole par-72 membership club that also allows non-member play. The course is supported by a driving range, instruction, pro-shop services, simulator facilities and clubhouse food and beverage operations.
