About Babcock National

Babcock National is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course within the Babcock National community in Punta Gorda, Florida. Golf architect Gordon Lewis designed the course, which opened in 2020 as part of the Lennar-developed residential community at Babcock Ranch. The course operates primarily as a community golf amenity but publishes limited public-play rates, making semi-private the most appropriate access classification.

Its golf facilities include a practice range, putting and short-game areas, golf shop and clubhouse amenities. Babcock National's official site currently publishes public rates for May and October, with separate late-afternoon pricing. Because published scorecard information has changed over time, older 7,176-yard figures have not been treated as the current scalar course length without a current official scorecard.

The course is an 18-hole golf course. Designed by Gordon Lewis, the course originally opened in 2020. It is semi-private, welcoming both members and visitors. On-site facilities include Restaurant, Bar, Practice Range, Putting Green, Short Game Area, Golf Shop, Clubhouse.

Origins

Babcock National was developed as the golf component of Lennar's Babcock National residential community within Babcock Ranch. Gordon Lewis was commissioned to design the 18-hole course, and the completed layout was formally introduced in early 2020.

Design Philosophy

Contemporary descriptions of Lewis's design emphasize multiple teeing options, broad landing areas and strategically positioned bunkering. The routing was developed as a championship-length residential-community course while retaining the natural character of the property.

Development

The golf course was among the early major amenities completed for Babcock National. A ribbon-cutting and golf event marked its opening in February 2020, with the broader community subsequently adding its clubhouse and other recreational amenities.

Today

Babcock National remains the golf course serving the Babcock National community. Member golf is central to its operation, while the club also publishes limited seasonal public rates.
