Origins

Bauru Golf Club traces its beginnings to Tsuneki Yoshiura and his brothers Satoru and Tetsuro, who brought golf to the centre-west of São Paulo state during the 1970s. The first course was a six-hole layout with sand greens. Three more holes were added over time, creating a nine-hole course and leading to formalisation of the club.

Other historical sources place the establishment of the club in 1977.

Development

The club's current official history dates its major remodelling to 1994. The work replaced the earlier sand putting surfaces with grass greens and added sand bunkers and water hazards. Municipal records also document a driving range and putting green.

This redevelopment marked the transition from the rudimentary early family course to the present club.

Recognition

Bauru is an affiliated club of the Federação Paulista de Golfe and has a long record of formal competition. The Federação described the 2026 Bauru Open as the 26th edition, with all 95 available places filled.

Today

The club remains a nine-hole facility with an active tournament calendar, practice facilities and social areas. The official club and municipal sources do not currently publish a complete scorecard, slope/rating information or a dependable public green-fee tariff.
