Blue Mountain Golf and Country Club is a semi-private, par-72 golf course in Collingwood, Ontario, established in 1964 as the area's first golf club. The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 5,816m (6,359 yards), course rating 70.9 and slope rating 127. Designed by John F. Robinson and Graham Cooke, the course originally opened in 1964. It is semi-private, welcoming both members and visitors. On-site facilities include Restaurant, Café, Junior Membership, Corporate Membership, Chipping Area, Golf Cart Rental, Pro Shop, Golf Lessons.
Few golf clubs around Georgian Bay carry the tenure of Blue Mountain Golf and Country Club, the first course established in the Collingwood area and, six decades on, still its most historied. The club was founded in 1964 as a member-owned operation on Collingwood's Tenth Line, with the Niagara Escarpment rising behind the property as a backdrop for the layout that followed.
Design credit for the course is shared between two architects: John F. Robinson and Graham Cooke of Graham Cooke & Associates. Course-directory records tie both names to the property, though the club's own materials do not spell out which architect handled the original routing versus later renovation work.
What's on the ground today is a traditional parkland design built around returning nines - both the 9th and 18th holes finish at the clubhouse - with six sets of tees spread across four tee boxes so golfers of varying ability can choose an appropriate test. Water fountains placed every three holes and double-row irrigation across the fairways and greens reflect the club's continued investment in playing conditions.
Blue Mountain is recognized by the Golf Association of Ontario as a host site for provincial competition, having staged the Ontario Junior Ladies Championship, the Ontario Senior Ladies Championship, and numerous amateur qualifying rounds.
Blue Mountain operates as a semi-private club, open to members, reciprocal guests through a program covering roughly seventeen regional golf clubs, and the public. The club marked its 60th anniversary in 2024 and continues to invest in its facilities, with a new netted practice area planned to open by the 2027 season.
