Borgarnes Golf Club plays at Hamarsvöllur at Hamar near Borgarnes in West Iceland. The present course has 18 holes and a par of 71. The club was founded in 1973, and the course began as a smaller layout designed by Þorvaldur Ásgeirsson.
Golf architect Hannes Þorsteinsson later redesigned the course and added nine holes, with the completed 18-hole layout formally brought into use in June 2007. Published course information lists lengths of 5,338 metres from the white tees, 4,939 metres from yellow and 4,405 metres from red. The routing crosses rolling ground around the old Hamar farm, with water entering play on several holes.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. The course was designed by Þorvaldur Ásgeirsson. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Clubhouse, Restaurant.
Golfklúbbur Borgarness was founded in 1973. The original course at Hamar was designed by Þorvaldur Ásgeirsson and developed around the old Hamar farm outside Borgarnes.
