Its routing moves from more open terrain on the front nine into a more heavily tree-lined back nine, where Timber Creek becomes a significant part of the layout. The property includes approximately 25 acres of lakes as well as mature hardwoods, bunkering, grass swales, mounds and natural contours. Bridlewood uses Bermuda fairways and TifEagle Bermuda putting surfaces.

Bridlewood was created as an 18-hole championship-length public course in Flower Mound, with PGA Tour professional D.A. Weibring and Golf Resources, Inc. responsible for the design.
The designers used a transition in the site's character to vary the round. The front nine occupies comparatively open ground, while the back nine moves through mature trees and repeatedly interacts with Timber Creek. Bunkers, grass swales, mounding and natural contours create strategic decisions around both drives and approach shots.
The course also incorporates roughly 25 acres of lakes.
Bridlewood remains a public daily-fee golf course with online tee-time booking. The course stretches to 7,111 yards and currently uses Bermuda fairways and TifEagle Bermuda greens. Its golf operation includes a driving range, golf shop, cart fleet and food-and-beverage service.
