Cairndhu Golf Club occupies a coastal headland site near Ballygally on the Antrim coast. The organisation began as Larne Town Golf Club in 1928, but that original nine-hole course was at The Roddens in Larne and was designed by Major C. A.
MacKenzie. Industrial development forced the club to relocate in the 1950s. The present Cairndhu course opened in 1958 and was subsequently extended to 18 holes in 1963.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. Designed by John Morrison, the course originally opened in 1958. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Pro shop, Putting green, Clubhouse, Restaurant, Bar, Buggy hire, Trolley hire, Club hire, and 3 more.
The organisation began as Larne Town Golf Club in May 1928. Local businessmen acquired fifty acres at The Roddens, where Major C. A.
MacKenzie designed a nine-hole course that was ready for play that same year.
Industrial development in Larne forced the club to relocate in the 1950s. The new Cairndhu course opened in 1958 and was expanded to 18 holes in 1963. The property incorporates land historically associated with Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon and Cairndhu House.
Cairndhu has a substantial professional-tournament history, including its longstanding PGA Pro-Am and the Northern Ireland Open in 2021 and 2022.
The club operates an 18-hole par-70 visitor-accessible course and publishes seasonal visitor rates and direct online booking.
