The California Golf Club of San Francisco, commonly known as "Cal Club," is located in South San Francisco, California. Founded in 1918, the club originally operated in Ingleside before relocating to its current site in 1924, which encompasses approximately 425 acres of rolling hills and timbered land. The course opened on May 26, 1926, with design contributions from Willie Locke and A.
Vernon Macan, and later modifications by Alister MacKenzie. In 2007-2008, Kyle Phillips restored the course to its original design, featuring fine fescue grass that contributes to its fast and firm playing conditions.
