The Stadium Course at Camiral, a Quinta do Lago Resort, opened in 1999 and was designed under the guidance of Neil Coles and Ángel Gallardo. It was conceived from the outset to satisfy Ryder Cup standards, with broad spectator banking and sightlines designed to accommodate approximately 30,000 spectators. Subsequent alterations made the course more demanding and extended it to 7,333 yards.
