Origins

Cedar Hill has belonged to the town of Stoughton since it opened in 1952, giving local golfers a nine-hole option on Route 27 near the Brockton line. Municipal ownership from the outset kept the course accessible and affordable, and it has run as a walk-up, no-tee-time facility for most of its history.

Did You Know?
Despite its modest municipal setup, Cedar Hill's golf memberships are currently sold out, with the pro shop keeping a waiting list for the next opening.

Development

The town has kept investing in the course rather than letting it stand still. A 2022 flag garden project was followed in 2024 by irrigation and tee-box work on the 1st, 5th, and 7th holes -- the 7th tee alone added 35 yards -- and a full rebuild of the 9th fairway, which included relocating the cart path, releveling the rough, and adding a new fairway bunker.
