The Country Club of Fairfield is located in Fairfield, Connecticut, United States. Founded in 1914 by Oliver Gould Jennings, the course was designed by Seth Raynor and officially opened in 1921. The layout features a links-style design inspired by notable golf holes from the British Isles.
The course was developed on land that was previously onion fields and a tidal marsh, requiring significant landfill work to create the current terrain. Hall of Fame golfer Walter Hagen was present at the course's opening day.
