Daiman 18 Golf Club is a public, 18-hole golf course in Taman Johor Jaya, on the Pasir Gudang-Johor Bahru Highway in Johor Bahru, Johor. The course opened in 1996 and is operated by Daiman Golf Berhad, a subsidiary of Daiman Development Berhad, the property group that also developed the surrounding Taman Johor Jaya residential township.
The club is open to both members and non-member visitors, with green fees split between weekday and weekend rates, morning and afternoon sessions, and separate pricing for 18 and 9 holes. Golfers can choose a shared buggy or a pull-trolley, and caddies are available for hire. An annual season pass is also offered for regular players. Tee times can be booked directly with the club by phone or WhatsApp, or through the Deemples booking platform.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. The course originally opened in 1996. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Restaurant, Changing Rooms, Function Rooms, Buggy Rental, Caddy Service.
Daiman 18 Golf Club exists because a Johor Bahru property developer needed a recreational anchor for one of its own housing estates. Daiman Development Berhad, a family-run development company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia since 29 September 1992, built the course in 1996 inside Taman Johor Jaya, a township it was developing along the Pasir Gudang-Johor Bahru Highway. The golf course was never conceived as a stand-alone club chasing prestige; it was recreational infrastructure for a suburb, run by Daiman Golf Berhad, a wholly owned subsidiary set up specifically to operate the course alongside the group's other sports and recreation ventures, which include a bowling centre and sports complexes in Johor Jaya and Skudai.
The tie to the wider Tay family business is direct: Tay Tian Liang, an executive director of Daiman Development Berhad since 1983, has also served as managing director of Daiman Golf Berhad, the entity that holds the golf course.
The course has stayed close to its original public-access model rather than converting to a private members' club, a less common arrangement in a market where most 18-hole layouts around Johor Bahru are attached to residential or resort developments with member-first access. Daiman has kept investing in the practice side of the operation: a 16-bay driving range now runs daily, and the clubhouse's changing rooms have been refurbished in recent years. Player reviews describe ongoing turf and drainage work on some holes, suggesting the layout is still being adjusted rather than left untouched since it opened.
Daiman 18 is marketed by its owner as an affordable, no-frills option for Johor Bahru golfers rather than a championship test. Pricing is structured around weekday and weekend sessions, with separate visitor, member, senior, and junior rates, and golfers can choose between a shared buggy or a pull-trolley depending on budget. An annual season pass is available for regulars who play often enough to make membership-style pricing worthwhile.
Tee times can be arranged directly with the club by phone or WhatsApp, or through the Deemples booking platform, where the course is one of the more heavily reviewed public layouts in Johor.
