Dead Solid Perfect Golf is a public golf practice and instruction facility at 16900 Blanco Road in San Antonio, Texas, rather than a regulation golf course. Its official website lists a driving range, golf academy, club-fitting studio and club-repair service, with no playable course, scorecard, par or rated tee sets. The driving range sells individual baskets and prepaid punch cards, while a separate X-Treme Short Game area is available for a daily fee.
Instruction is offered through the DSP Golf Academy using technology including FlightScope and OnForm, with programmes for juniors as well as individual golfers. The fitting operation works with golfers on club heads, shafts, length, flex, grips and weighting and lists equipment brands including Callaway, Mizuno, Ping and TaylorMade. Genaro Davila, identified by local media and the PGA directory as the facility's owner/general manager, has a background in professional golf and club fitting.
It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Short Game Practice Area, Golf Academy, Golf Lessons, Junior Golf Academy, Club Fitting, Club Repair.
The golf-practice property at 16900 Blanco Road has operated under several identities. A 2012 announcement from MK Golf Technologies records its move to the same address when the site was known as the Caruso Golf Center. Contemporary golf directories have also referred to the property as Blanco Road Golf Center.
The exact date when the Dead Solid Perfect Golf name replaced those earlier identities could not be verified. DSP's own academy page says instructor Tom Covino has taught there since 1994, showing a long continuity of golf instruction at the facility, but that statement is not sufficient to establish 1994 as the founding year of the present business.
By 2018, Dead Solid Perfect Golf was using its current identity publicly on social media. In April 2019, the San Antonio Business Journal identified Genaro Davila as the owner and principal of Dead Solid Perfect Golf LLC while reporting on his equipment-distribution work with Miura Golf. The business developed around practice and player-development services rather than a golf course.
Its present operations combine a driving range with a dedicated golf academy, short-game practice, club fitting and club repair. The fitting studio uses launch-monitor and analysis technology and provides equipment fitting for recreational golfers through professional players.
The PGA of America directory lists Dead Solid Perfect Golf as a recognised golf facility and identifies Genaro Davila as its general manager and PGA Associate. San Antonio media have also profiled Davila and the facility for its instruction and fitting services.
Dead Solid Perfect Golf continues to operate at 16900 Blanco Road as a public practice and player-development facility. The official website publishes driving-range basket prices of $12 for a small basket, $14 medium, $16 large and $20 jumbo, plus a $10 daily fee for the X-Treme Short Game area. It also offers prepaid range punch cards and unlimited-range-ball memberships.
Golf instruction, junior programmes, professional club fitting and club repair are provided on site. Because there is no regulation course, conventional green fees, holes, par, course rating, slope and tee-set data do not apply.
