Origins

The Lombardi family owned a dairy farm on much of the land that later became Easton Country Club. Facing difficult economics for small dairy farms in the late 1950s and early 1960s, the family looked for another use for the property and turned to golf. Sam Mitchell was hired in 1961 to design and build the first nine holes, which officially opened in 1962.

When Easton had reached 18 holes by 1969, weekday golf cost $3 and weekend golf $5.

Development

When adjoining farmland later became available, the Lombardis again hired Mitchell and expanded the course. By 1969 Easton was an 18-hole operation. The clubhouse and event business subsequently expanded alongside golf.

Today

Easton remains family operated and functions as a semi-private club, combining memberships with public tee times, outings and events.
