About El Chaparral Golf Club

El Chaparral Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course at Mijas Costa on Spain's Costa del Sol. The Real Federación Española de Golf credits José 'Pepe' Gancedo as its designer and classifies the layout as a parkland-forest course. During high season an 18-hole green fee with buggy is €135; the equivalent rate is €115 in mid season and €100 in low season, with separate twilight prices. The facility includes a driving range, short-game practice areas, academy, pro shop and restaurant.

The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. The course was designed by José "Pepe" Gancedo. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Putting Green, Chipping Area, Golf Academy, Pro Shop, Restaurant.

Origins

El Chaparral was laid out at Mijas Costa by Spanish architect José 'Pepe' Gancedo, whose work is formally credited by Spain's national golf federation.

Design Philosophy

Gancedo's approach at El Chaparral was to respect the site's natural shape and forested landscape. The routing consequently uses changing terrain and existing vegetation to distinguish holes rather than relying on a repetitive arrangement.

Today

El Chaparral operates as an 18-hole visitor-accessible course with an academy, extensive practice facilities, pro shop and restaurant. The club publishes seasonal green fees and online booking.
