W. Golf Architecture for developer Taylor Morrison. The course opened on May 15, 2020.
Its Black tees measure 7,007 yards at par 72 with a course rating of 73.1 and slope of 128, while multiple combination and forward tees reduce the playing length to less than 4,000 yards. The site was originally comparatively flat, so large lakes were excavated and the removed material was used to create golf-course contours as well as residential pads and roads. Five holes use areas of mature oak and pine.
The course is an 18-hole golf course. It plays to par 72, 7,007 yards, course rating 73.1 and slope rating 128. Designed by Chris Wilczynski, the course originally opened in 2020. It is a private members' club. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Practice Facility, Golf Lessons, Pro Shop, Golf Cart Rental, Clubhouse.
Taylor Morrison planned the golf course as a central amenity within its approximately 1,000-acre Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch development. Chris Wilczynski and C.W. Golf Architecture were commissioned to design the 18-hole course, with construction beginning in 2019.
Because much of the original site was flat, Wilczynski's team created topographic variety by excavating large lakes and redistributing the soil. Five holes were routed through or alongside mature stands of oak and pine. The design uses multiple tee sets to accommodate a broad range of playing lengths.
The course was completed in early 2020 and opened on May 15, 2020. It was temporarily made available to public players with introductory rates around its opening before transitioning toward the resident/private model planned for the community.
The course remains part of the Esplanade at Azario residential club operation, with a golf shop, range, practice area, instruction and resident-oriented membership structure.
