Golf Club Aaretal is a public-access nine-hole, par-31 course at Professoreistrasse 36 in Kiesen, Canton Bern, Switzerland. The course was designed by John Stainer Chilver of Brig. The club describes the routing as approximately 2,100 metres long, while its current WHS rating system lists the longest rated tees at 2,003 metres.
Those men's tees carry a course rating of 62.2 and slope of 114; shorter rated sets measure 1,806, 1,666 and 1,517 metres, with men's and women's ratings published for each. The relatively compact course is intended to support quicker nine-hole rounds while still providing a mixture of full shots and short-game demands. The official club description emphasises a varied layout despite its relatively short overall distance. Chilver used large tiered greens to place greater importance on accurate approach play and putting. The flat Aare Valley site also provides views toward the Emmental and Bernese Alps.
The club has grown since gaining full association membership in 2004, developing active men's, women's, senior and junior sections and entering teams in Swiss Interclub competition.
Aaretal operates as a public-access nine-hole, par-31 facility with recognised handicap ratings, online tee-time booking, a driving range, putting and pitching greens, a short-game facility and restaurant.
