Origins

Bear Dance was created by Southwest Greens of Colorado as a major public golf project south of Denver. PGA professionals Corey Aurand, Stuart Bruening, Dennis Hogan and Brian Whitcomb are credited with designing and building the course, which debuted in 2002.

Did You Know?
The course occupies 753 acres yet its fairways do not directly adjoin one another.

Design Philosophy

The design spreads individual holes through existing ridges, draws, ponderosa pines and native-grass valleys rather than clustering fairways together. That separation helps each hole occupy its own section of the mountain property while preserving large areas of native terrain.

Development

The club later became part of Heritage Golf Group's portfolio while remaining the home base of the Colorado PGA Section.

Recognition

Bear Dance quickly became one of Colorado's best-known public courses and has accumulated repeated regional public-course awards.

Today

Bear Dance remains a daily-fee public course, with five principal teeing options, PGA instruction, extensive practice facilities, simulator golf and full food-and-beverage operations.
