Golf- und Land-Club Berlin-Wannsee is a historic private-member golf club in Berlin with an 18-hole championship course and separate nine-hole course. Origins

The organisation traces its roots to Berlin Golf Club in 1895. Development of the present Wannsee site accelerated in the 1920s, and the club adopted the Golf- und Land-Club Berlin-Wannsee name in 1925.

Did You Know?
The club's roots reach back to Berlin Golf Club, founded by British and American expatriates in 1895.

Design Philosophy

The current club credits C. S. Butchard with early 1913-14 planning and Karl Hoffmann with execution of the championship course in 1926.

The wooded site produces narrow corridors, significant elevation changes and strategic green approaches.

Development

The Wannsee course was formally developed in the mid-1920s and expanded by a further nine holes in 1930. The modern club now has an 18-hole championship course, separate nine-hole course and substantial practice facilities.

Recognition

The club has long been an important German tournament venue and remains one of the country's historically significant golf institutions. Its 17th championship-course hole was selected by Golf Magazin in 2020 as one of Germany's notable holes.

Today

Berlin-Wannsee remains a private membership club while permitting qualified visitor play under weekday and member-accompaniment rules.
