Golfclub Am Mondsee is an 18-hole, par-72 course at St. Lorenz beside Mondsee in Upper Austria. The project originated in 1986 when landowner Peter Count von Almeida sought a new use for agricultural land and ultimately selected a design by Max Graf Lamberg after considering proposals from other architects.
The longest current scorecard measures 6,248 metres. Four principal tee distances are published: 6,248, 5,952, 5,452 and 5,115 metres. Water from the approximately 10-hectare Drachensee becomes particularly prominent over the closing holes.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,248m (6,833 yards), course rating 73.7 and slope rating 131. Designed by Max Graf Lamberg, the course originally opened in 1989. It is semi-private, welcoming both members and visitors. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Putting Green, Pro Shop, Restaurant, Golf Lessons, Club Rental, Golf Cart Hire, Trolley Hire.
The project began in 1986 when Peter Count von Almeida considered alternative uses for land previously associated with his cattle operation. After reviewing concepts from established architects, he met Max Graf Lamberg, whose initial sketch became the preferred plan.
Lamberg's routing uses the generally level property and its large lake as strategic features, with water becoming increasingly influential through the closing sequence.
Planning began in 1986 and the course subsequently opened in 1989.
Golfclub Am Mondsee operates an 18-hole championship course with four principal tee distances, practice facilities, rentals and visitor green fees.
