About Golfclub Mettmann e.V.

V. is a private-member golf club in Mettmann, North Rhine-Westphalia, with visitor access for golfers holding recognised club credentials and the required handicap. The club was founded in 1986 and developed its current golf complex during the following decade.

Its practice centre, including the driving range and three-hole short course, was fully released for play in August 1994, followed by the formal opening of the 18-hole championship course on 5 and 6 August 1995. Origins

Golfclub Mettmann was entered into the register of associations in July 1986. The board began the project for a new permanent golf facility in 1989, with leases completed in 1991 and government planning approval finally obtained in September 1992.

Development

The driving range was inaugurated in 1993, followed by full release of the practice centre, driving range and three-hole short course in August 1994. The championship course formally opened with a tournament on 5 and 6 August 1995. The clubhouse followed in 1997.

Later work included tee and bunker modifications, driving-range redevelopment, expanded putting facilities, a water reservoir and pond beside the eighteenth green, and continuing practice-area upgrades.

Recognition

The club hosted the German Ladies International Amateur Championship in 2011. Its environmental management has also received the German golf industry's Golf & Natur Gold designation.

Today

Golfclub Mettmann remains an independent member-owned association with an 18-hole course, extensive practice complex and controlled visitor access.
