Half Moon Bay Golf Club is an 18-hole coastal parkland course at 66 Wattle Street, Yorkeys Knob, north of Cairns, Queensland. The principal men's layout plays to par 70, while the women's layout is par 71. The course occupies low coastal ground between the Coral Sea and the ranges west of Cairns, with water and out-of-bounds influencing numerous holes.
The club publishes detailed hole-by-hole playing guidance, including water on several of the par 3s and a double-dogleg par 5 17th played across water. Social golfers are accepted seven days a week, although 18-hole social golf is available Sunday to Friday and bookings are essential. Current social green fees are A$54 for 18 holes and A$34 for nine holes.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It is semi-private, welcoming both members and visitors. On-site facilities include Pro Shop, Putting Green, Chipping Area, Golf Lessons, Indoor Golf Simulators, Golf Carts, Club Hire, Pull Cart Hire, and 3 more.
Local histories record a golf course being developed at Yorkeys Knob during the 1960s as the settlement expanded, although a precise club opening date and original architect were not verified.
The course is relatively short by modern standards but uses narrow playing corridors, water, out-of-bounds and coastal wind to place greater emphasis on accuracy than length.
The modern club has added indoor golf simulators, instruction programs and upgraded visitor facilities while maintaining an 18-hole outdoor course.
Half Moon Bay was named the 2025 Most Outstanding Club, Facility or Place to Play in the Regional category in recent club-supplied material.
The club serves members, competition visitors and social golfers and operates year-round in the Cairns tropical climate.
