Higashi-Chiba Country Club's East Course is an 18-hole, par-72 layout in Togane, Chiba Prefecture, and forms half of a 36-hole complex with the West Course. The club opened on October 1, 1977 and credits both courses to Japanese designer Toshio Suzuki. Accordia Golf currently lists the East Course at 7,181 yards when the Left Green configuration is in use, with a course rating of 73.2; the alternate Right Green configuration is rated 72.9.
Each hole has two bentgrass greens, and the club's detailed course guide publishes separate A- and B-green yardages from Black, Blue, White, Gold and Red tees. The East is the longer of Higashi-Chiba's two courses and uses the property's wooded, rolling terrain extensively. Doglegs, elevation changes, out-of-bounds boundaries, bunkering and several water features influence positioning throughout the round, while the final par-3 18th can require a carry across water to the left green.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 7,181 yards. Designed by Toshio Suzuki, the course originally opened in 1977. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Approach Practice Area, Practice Bunker, Pro Shop, Golf Cart Hire, GPS Carts, Club Hire, Golf Shoe Hire, and 7 more.
Higashi-Chiba Country Club was established in Togane, Chiba Prefecture, as a 36-hole facility consisting of separate East and West courses. Accordia Golf records the opening date as October 1, 1977 and credits Toshio Suzuki with the design. The property was laid out through the wooded, gently rolling terrain of inland Chiba rather than developed as a later expansion from a single-course club.
The East Course is the longer of Higashi-Chiba's two layouts and makes greater use of elevation changes, doglegs and demanding driving corridors. The present course begins with a left-turning par four and quickly introduces water at the par-3 second and par-5 fifth. Several holes have out-of-bounds running close to one or both sides, while the two-green system changes both yardage and preferred approach lines.
The back nine continues over rolling terrain, including downhill and uphill approaches, and ends with a par three where the A-green route is played across water. The result is a layout where position and distance control matter throughout rather than one relying on a single repeated hazard type.
Higashi-Chiba has remained a two-course, 36-hole club, but its operating structure has changed over time. The property passed through golf-management businesses associated with Orix before the wider operation became Next Golf Management. It is now operated by Accordia Golf and has been incorporated into Accordia's GRAND portfolio.
The club has also expanded its operating formats, including an 18-hole night-golf routing assembled from nine holes of the East and nine of the West Course. Current operational upgrades include GPS-equipped five-seat carts, online booking, automated payment systems and extensive clubhouse and practice facilities.
The East Course remains one of two full 18-hole courses at Higashi-Chiba Country Club and is available through Accordia Golf's public reservation system. Accordia currently lists the East at 7,181 yards and par 72 when the Left Green configuration is in use, with official ratings of 73.2 for Left Green and 72.9 for Right Green. Golfers may choose self-play or request caddie service.
The wider club includes a 250-yard, 18-bay driving range, approach and bunker practice areas, golf shop, restaurant, baths, lockers, rental clubs and shoes, competition rooms and shuttle transportation.
