Humewood Golf Club is a genuine coastal links at Gqeberha in South Africa's Eastern Cape. Colonel S. V.
Hotchkin was commissioned in 1929 to design the course, and the club records its opening in October 1931. Hotchkin routed the holes through low coastal scrub beside Algoa Bay, taking the area's prevailing easterly and westerly winds into account. Humewood quickly became a championship venue, hosting South African Amateur and South African Open competition from the 1930s and later staging the 2006 South African Open.
The course is an 18-hole links golf course. Designed by S. V. Hotchkin, the course originally opened in 1931. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Chipping Green, Putting Green, Clubhouse, Pro Shop, Intermediate Membership.
Colonel S. V. Hotchkin was approached in 1929 to design a new course to meet growing demand for golf in the Port Elizabeth area.

Hotchkin used the exposed coastal landscape and prevailing winds as primary strategic elements, routing holes both with and against the dominant easterly and westerly conditions.
Humewood began hosting major South African amateur and professional events only a few years after opening and has continued to stage tournament golf across multiple eras.
The club has remained a regular presence among South Africa's highly ranked courses and is widely recognised for its authentic links terrain.
Humewood remains an 18-hole links course beside Algoa Bay and continues to host professional tournament golf.
