Isis Golf Club, also known as Childers Golf Club, is a nine-green golf course at 204 Goodwood Road near Childers, Queensland. The club was formed in 1912 after golf had already been played locally for at least a year. Most greens are approached from two different tee positions, allowing the same nine greens to form a full 18-hole round.
The official club describes that 18-hole routing as 5,556 metres, par 70 for men and par 71 for women; a single men's nine plays to par 35. The course is tree-lined and includes a small number of bunkers. Visitors are welcome and the club publishes green fees of A$20 for nine holes and A$25 for 18 holes.
The course is a 9-hole parkland golf course. The course originally opened in 1912. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Clubhouse, Golf Cart Hire.
Golf had been played locally for at least a year when Isis Golf Club was formally established in 1912. Solicitor J. J.
Butler, the inaugural president, and Dr J. R. Robinson, the inaugural captain, were central to its formation.
The first course was off North Isis Road.
The club moved onto land adjoining the former Doolbi Sugar Mill after the Isis Central Sugar Mill acquired the mill in 1921. The club purchased that paddock in 1924 and expanded the property through later purchases and a Calder family land gift. A long redevelopment programme began in 1987, a new irrigation system was completed in 1992, and the revised course layout officially opened in 1994.
The club describes itself as reputedly the second-oldest nine-hole golf club in Queensland and has maintained continuous affiliation with the state golf body since helping found it in 1914.
Isis remains a nine-green country club where alternate tee positions produce a full 18-hole routing, with visitors openly welcomed.
