Jarama RACE Club's principal golf course is an 18-hole, par-72 layout at the RACE Sports Complex in San Sebastián de los Reyes, north of Madrid. The course was designed by Spanish architect Javier Arana and inaugurated in 1967, when the wider sports complex was opened by the future King Juan Carlos I. The longest published white-tee layout measures 6,486 metres.
RACE describes the course as broad and relatively long, set through a Castilian dehesa landscape with holm oaks, pines and other established trees. Access to the main course is principally for RACE members and their guests. The property also contains a separate nine-hole short course, so data for that academy-style layout should not be merged into the 18-hole scorecard.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,486m. Designed by Javier Arana, the course originally opened in 1967. It is open to members and their guests. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Putting Green, Approach Area, Golf Academy, Pro Shop, Club Storage, Locker Room.
During the 1960s, members of the Real Automóvil Club de España developed a multi-sport complex outside Madrid. The project opened in 1967, with golf forming a major part of the new facility. Javier Arana, one of Spain's most important golf architects, designed the principal 18-hole course.
RACE describes the course as broad and long, laid through a traditional Castilian dehesa landscape. Established holm oaks and pines define many of the playing corridors, while Arana's routing uses the existing landscape rather than relying on a heavily manufactured setting.
The golf operation expanded beyond the original 18-hole course to include a nine-hole short course and extensive practice infrastructure. The practice centre now includes 40 stations, putting and approach areas and technology for swing and biomechanics analysis.
The course has staged high-level tournament golf, including the PGA Spanish Open, and the club continues to identify the Javier Arana routing as one of the central sporting facilities at the RACE complex.
The principal course remains focused on RACE members and their guests. It operates alongside the nine-hole short course, golf academy and extensive practice facilities.
