The course was developed on a large property in Sukaraja, with Graham Marsh responsible for the golf architecture, Pacific Golf involved in construction and Bensley Design Group responsible for landscaping.
The project retained mature vegetation and natural site features rather than treating the property as a cleared golf site. Marsh's routing places an emphasis on positional play through the established landscape.
The first nine entered use early in 1997 and the full 18-hole course followed in May of that year.
Bogor Raya remains an 18-hole visitor-accessible course with full clubhouse and practice facilities.
