The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,493m (7,101 yards), course rating 75.2 and slope rating 155. Designed by Andy Dye, the course originally opened in 1991. The Masters was developed as one of Laguna National's two championship courses during the club's early-1990s establishment. Dye Designs is associated with its creation, although published sources differ over whether Andy Dye or Perry Dye should receive the individual design credit.
Unlike Laguna National's more aggressively styled Classic Course, the Masters developed as a tree-lined parkland layout. Its tournament setup can exceed 7,100 yards and its black-tee rating of 75.2/155 reflects a demanding championship configuration.
The Masters has a long tournament history and has hosted international professional golf, including the Caltex Masters. Laguna National's own current material continues to distinguish it as the club's historic 'Grand Old Lady'.
The Masters remains one half of Laguna National's 36-hole operation beside the Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore resort and the club's practice, academy and dining facilities.
