Origins

The land occupied by the course had previously been agricultural ground divided into fields. The first documentary evidence of organised golf at Langland is the club's minute book dated 24 September 1901. The founders established Langland Bay Golf Club and developed a course around the former Langland Farm property.

The club's historical records note that local residents recalled golf being played on the clifftop even before the club's first surviving minutes from 1901.
