Legends Golf Club is an 18-hole public daily-fee course in Prior Lake, Minnesota, opened in 2001. Gill/Miller Golf Architects designed the course across a 360-acre property, with approximately 230 acres devoted to golf. The current Silver tees measure 7,126 yards at par 72, with a 74.5 course rating and 142 slope.
The routing combines wooded areas, ponds, wetlands, links-style mounding and substantial elevation change. The club documents 21 bodies of water covering approximately 50 acres, with water affecting 13 holes, plus around 20 acres of natural wetlands. Five teeing areas per hole were incorporated to make the layout playable at different lengths.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 7,126 yards, course rating 74.5 and slope rating 142. Designed by Gill/Miller Golf Architects, the course originally opened in 2001. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Putting Green, Chipping Area, Practice Bunker, Pro Shop, Golf Simulator, Restaurant, Bar, and 3 more.
Legends Club was developed as part of the Tradition Companies golf portfolio and opened in 2001. Gill/Miller Golf Architects were given a large, varied site on the Prior Lake-Lakeville border, with Enebak Construction responsible for course construction.
The architects used the property's mix of woods, open ground, wetlands and water rather than forcing a single visual style across the course. The club describes a more traditional or core feel on the front nine and more links-like characteristics on the back. Five teeing areas per hole, generous fairway landing areas and demanding approach shots were used to provide different levels of challenge.
Legends has been recognised as National Golf Course of the Year and has been positioned as one of Minnesota's leading public daily-fee courses.
The club remains open to the public and combines championship golf with a large practice facility, restaurant, golf shop, simulators and banquet operations.
