Lions Municipal Golf Course is a municipal course located in Austin, Texas. Opened in 1924 by the Lions Club, it was the first public golf course in the city. Initially a nine-hole facility, it was later expanded to 18 holes.
The course was transferred to the city in 1936 and has hosted many notable golfers, including Ben Hogan and Tom Kite. Lions Municipal is recognized as one of the first courses in the South to desegregate prior to the Supreme Court decision in Brown v. Board of Education in 1954.
