Origins

Long Lake Country Club began life in 1961 as Birch Point Golf Course, a 9-hole course laid out by architect Ben Gray on the shore of Long Lake in Saint David, at the northern edge of Maine's St. John Valley.

Did You Know?
The club was originally called Birch Point Golf Course before brothers Bruce and Allan Hebert bought and renamed it — a Hebert still manages the club today.

Development

The course changed hands and names when brothers Bruce and Allan Hebert purchased the property, renaming it Long Lake Country Club. The lakefront routing and modest scale have stayed largely the same since Gray's original design.

Today

Golfers play the same 9 holes twice for a full round, a common setup for courses of this size and era. A Hebert still manages the club today, continuing the family's connection to the course decades after the purchase that gave it its current name.
