The South Course at Los Serranos Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole, par-74 public course in Chino Hills, California, built in 1964 under the ownership of tennis Hall of Famer Jack Kramer and co-designed with Kevin Sullivan. At 7,558 yards it is one of the longest public golf courses in California, with wide fairways and generous greens that still demand length and shot-making from tee to green. The course shares its clubhouse, driving range, and dining facilities with the adjoining North Course, forming one of Southern California's longest-running public golf destinations.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 74, 7,558 yards, course rating 76.3 and slope rating 138. Designed by Jack Kramer and Kevin Sullivan and Zell Eaton, the course originally opened in 1964. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Pro Shop, Restaurant, Bar, Function Room.
By the early 1950s, Los Serranos was already golf's answer to a second act: Los Angeles businessman Bill Cranston, Montebello professional Zell Eaton, and tennis champion Jack Kramer took over the lease in 1953 and reopened the aging club with fresh investment. Kramer, a dominant amateur and professional player through the 1940s who had turned to promoting and organising tennis after his playing career, became sole owner of the club in 1961.
With sole control of the property, Kramer set about turning a single 18-hole course into a 36-hole facility. The South Course opened in 1964, designed by Kramer himself alongside Kevin Sullivan and Zell Eaton, on more rolling terrain than the original North Course. At 7,558 yards, it remains one of the longest public golf courses in California.
The club marked the South Course's 60th anniversary in 2024, and the wider Los Serranos property's 100th anniversary in 2025 — a rare run of continuous operation for a Southern California public golf facility.
