Did You Know?
Cornelius Vander Starr's ashes are reported to have been interred near the fifteenth tee.

Development

The property has remained deliberately low-profile and private for decades. In late 2025, plans were submitted for a major overhaul involving demolition and replacement of buildings, a new clubhouse, lodging, a meeting venue, wellness facilities, a new driving range and redevelopment of the existing 18-hole course. Danbury approved the Connecticut-side wetland components in February 2026 subject to environmental conditions.

Today

Morefar remains a private, non-public golf facility rather than a conventional membership or daily-fee club. The current redevelopment is described as the course's first major overhaul since the 1970s.
