Ninth Line Family Golf Academy is a family-owned and family-operated driving range and practice facility in Mississauga, Ontario, built to allow golfers to practice through every season. The main range has 45 natural grass tee decks used in warmer months, plus 12 individual heated bays enclosed against wind, rain, and snow so golfers can keep hitting balls onto the outdoor landing area through the winter. A 3,600-square-foot, three-tiered putting green, installed by Southwest Greens, gives players a consistent short-game surface year-round, and turf mats are available for golfers who prefer hitting off mats rather than natural grass.
Beyond the range, the property includes an 18-hole mini golf course built on a screenings base rather than poured concrete, with undulating fairways, mixed hole lengths, and hidden breaks around the cups. The facility also runs golf instruction, offering private, semi-private, and small-group lessons, on-course playing lessons, and clinics aimed specifically at seniors, ladies, and junior golfers.
The course originally opened in 2001. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Family Membership, Junior Membership, Driving Range, Golf Lessons, Mini Golf, Chipping Area, Putting Green.
A driving range built around a family business rather than a championship layout is an unusual proposition in a region thick with private clubs, but that is what took shape on Ninth Line Road in Mississauga roughly a quarter century ago. Anniversary messaging on the operator's own site marks the facility at 25 years as of 2026, placing its opening in the early 2000s.
Rather than a full course, the property was built purely as a practice and instruction facility: a large tee line, a mini golf course, and space for lessons, aimed at recreational and family golfers rather than competitive club play.
The range was built out over time to stay open through the Ontario winter. Twelve individual bays, each enclosed and heated, were added alongside the original 45 natural-grass tee decks used in warmer months, letting golfers hit onto the outdoor landing area even in snow. An 18-hole mini golf course was also built on a screenings base rather than poured concrete, giving it undulating fairways and blind breaks more typical of a landscaped course than a standard mini-golf layout.
A three-tiered, 3,600-square-foot putting green from Southwest Greens was installed to give the facility a dedicated short-game practice area.
Ninth Line Family Golf continues to operate as a seasonal, family-run business, with separate summer and winter bucket pricing, individual and family memberships, and clinics for seniors, ladies, and juniors alongside private and group lessons. It also hosts birthday parties, corporate outings, and school groups, marketing itself as a local, open-air alternative to indoor golf domes for golfers across the Greater Toronto Area.
