Oneida Golf & Country Club is a private club in Green Bay, Wisconsin, whose present course dates to 1929. B. Turnbull and former stockholders of Fox River Country Club initiated the project after approximately 400 acres known as Sullivan's Flats were purchased.
Construction began on 25 June 1928 and the course opened on 15 June 1929, when 70 golfers attended the opening ceremony. S. Golf Architects Inc.
The course is an 18-hole golf course. The course originally opened in 1929. It is a private members-only club. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Pro Shop, Golf Lessons, Restaurant, Bar, Terrace.
A.B. Turnbull and former stockholders of Fox River Country Club were behind the creation of Oneida. Roughly 400 acres known as Sullivan's Flats were acquired, and construction began on 25 June 1928.
The surviving official history does not allow a clean architect attribution. S. Golf Architects Inc.
of Chicago as designer and constructor with Dorr Packard supervising, while noting another account that names Stanley Pelcher as designer and Dorr Packard Construction Company as builder.
The course formally opened on 15 June 1929 with 70 players attending the ceremony. Horse stables were added in the early 1930s, reflecting the club's original golf-and-riding identity.
The club's history records exhibition appearances involving major figures including Walter Hagen, Sam Snead and Ben Hogan.
Oneida continues as a private Green Bay golf and country club.
