Established in 1899, Paris Hill Country Club is one of the oldest golf courses in New England and has been welcoming golfers for well over a century. Nestled within the historic village of Paris Hill, the course occupies an elevated setting that offers sweeping views across the Oxford Hills and towards New Hampshire’s White Mountains, creating one of western Maine’s most picturesque golfing experiences.
The course features a traditional 9-hole, par-35 layout measuring just over 2,500 yards. While relatively short by modern standards, the rolling terrain, well-maintained greens and classic design encourage strategic shot-making and reward accuracy over power. Suitable for golfers of all abilities, the walkable layout is equally enjoyable for beginners, casual players and experienced golfers looking for a relaxed but engaging round.
The course is a 9-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 35, 2,516 yards. The course originally opened in 1899. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Golf Cart Rental, Restaurant, Bar / 19th Hole, Function Room, Conference Facilities.
Few golf courses share a hilltop with a 19th-century vice president's birthplace, but Paris Hill Country Club does. The course sits atop Paris Hill, a village settled in 1779 that served as the seat of Oxford County government for nine decades before those civic functions moved down the hill to South Paris in 1895.
Golfers arrived just a few years later. Paris Hill Country Club was established in 1899, giving the hilltop village a new draw not long after it lost its role as county seat. More than a century on, it remains one of the oldest golf courses in New England. The village itself was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, preserving the same 19th-century streetscape the course has always looked out over.
